Last June I accompanied my aunt to one of her high school reunion events at Borocay Garden & Grill in South San Francisco. We were a large group and all our meals were pre-made. Unlike some cultures that serve you a small appetizer, main entree, dessert or small dishes to eat throughout your dining experience like dim sum or tapas... In Filipino dining, you generally get big servings of everything! Every group of four received a big dish like this kare-kare (Filipino stew made from peanut sauce, vegetables, beef or goat, ox tail, and tripe) below:
Including kare-kare, I think we had about five more dishes like lechon, bangus (milkfish), pinakbet and sinigang. They all tasted great and they were all like home cooked meals to me! Also the staff was kind and attentive to our party. If I ever happen to be in the neighborhood again, I'll definitely be back to visit Borocay Garden & Grill.
